The studio

Stupid Studios is a small game studio. Its games are set in the Maldives: The Traveller, a survival, fishing, trading and sailing game across the real atolls, and CardClassics, the card games people play there (Digu, Thaas, Bondi and Dhihaeh), online with friends.

The name is a joke on ourselves. The games are not a joke. Look at the wordmark: stupıd. The dot has fallen off the i and landed at the end, where it makes a full stop. We make the odd mistake, we laugh about it, and the sentence still ends properly.

The mascot is Puff, a pufferfish who is not very bright and is completely fine with it.

The Traveller

A survival, fishing, trading and sailing game set on the real islands of the Maldives, where every coastline and reef comes from OpenStreetMap. Arrive as a backpacker in Malé, wash up as a castaway on an uninhabited islet, or grow up as an island kid with a dugout bokkura. Forage coconuts, fish with a handline, work resort shifts, haul cargo between atolls, build a camp and later a guesthouse, dive real dive sites, ride out monsoon storms, and keep an eye on the tideline for ambergris.

Please don't

  • Put the dot back on the i. The missing dot is the logo.
  • Recolour the dot, outline the wordmark, add shadows or gradients, stretch or rotate it.
  • Abbreviate the name to two S letters. Puff is the short form.
  • Put the foam versions on a light ground. They disappear.
